Sunday was a great footballing day for the club seeing the senior ladies through to the Sligo Lgfa Senior county championship final next weekend after a 10 goal spree against Eastern Harps in front of a huge crowd of supporters and spectators at the pitch on Sunday morning . Neil Egan and Eamon Durkin’s ladies team beat Eastern Harps by 10-8 to 1-9 to set up their Connacht Gold senior women’s championship final, history making for the club, against St Nathy’s on Saturday next at Markievicz Park (3pm).
Followed by a great hearted second half thriller in Markievicz seeing the Senior lads overcome a talented Shamrock Gaels team to book their place in the SFC final. Fergal O Donnells senior mens footballers secured a two-point win over Shamrock Gaels in the Homeland SFC semi-final to set up a county final date with St Mary’s who, with all level at full time and again extra time finished out winners v DRP on penalties . That final is on October 16th.
Meanwhile our u17 boys have their final to be played next weekend v St Pats so it’s time to paint the parish green and gold with flags and buntin flying to support the teams !
Remember Bingo still continues every Tuesday night so it’s not to be missed and great prizes to be had .
