Hard luck to the Sligo senior men's and women's footballers who lost their league games against Laois and Down respectively on Sunday. Our own Sinead Regan was Sligo captain at Pairc Esler in Newry where Sligo lost a competitive Div 3 game by 2-8 to 0-9. Caoimhe Connor, Izzy Henry and Maeve Casserly were also part of the Sligo team. Cian Lally was part of the men's team who lost out to Laois at Markievicz Park in their opening Div 4 game by 2-11 to 0-11. Good luck to our county players in their respective away games this Sunday against Louth and Wicklow.
Well done to Ross Chambers and Hugh Keaney who have made big contributions in helping ATU Sligo Freshers football team top their championship group and qualify for a home quarter-final this week.
Good luck to Eoghan Smith who's part of the DCU Sigerson Cup squad in Tuesday evening's quarter-final v MTU Cork at 7pm.
Oxfield will host Sligo minors (boys) first challenge game of the season this Saturday, Feb 4th, when they play Ulster champions Tyrone at 12 noon.
If you're in front of the TV this Friday night, TG4 may be worth tuning into at around 7.30pm. Up DRP!
