Friends of Sligo Football
Best of luck to Sligo footballers against Galway next Sunday. After their great win over Mayo expectations are high for this fine team but it would be unfair to put too much pressure on them as they will go into the game as underdogs but a repeat performance, like the second half against Mayo, and we may be celebrating again. One thing for sure they will be well prepared and give 100%. Lets hope Sligo supporters turn out in huge numbers and do travel on time as it is a difficult stadium to get to and find parking.
Best wishes also to Sligo minors next Sunday The success of St. Attractas and Summerhill this year will be a help to this team and we Know Bernard Mulhern is a very good manager.
We extend sympathy to the family of Shane Richardson, who died recently. He was a lifelong supporter of Tourlestrane and Sligo football teams. He was the father of Aidan Richardson, who captained that historical Sligo minor team in the All Ireland Final in 1968. Aidan and his brothers represented Tourlestrane and Sligo football and hurling teams and his daughter is Secretary of Tourlestrane GAA Club. So the family have made an immense contribution to the GAA.
Best of luck to all participants in the finals of the Cumann na mBunscoil held recently.
Well done to Sligo hurlers in their win over Louth last weekend.
