Enniscrone/Kilglass Gaa Club Notes 20th February 2022
AGM
The Annual general meeting of Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club took place on Friday 18th February, 2022 in Sheridan’s Pub, Kilglass. The minutes of the 2021 meeting were adopted followed by the secretary, Shane Hargadon’s comprehensive report of club activities both on and off the field during the past year.
Treasurer, Clair Beglin Duffy presented the financial report noting strong membership uptake in 2021 and the successful fundraiser through the campervan. She also acknowledged sponsorship of oil from Top Oil through Patrick Cleary. She expressed her gratitude to Eoghan Rua Football club who have ordered a set of goalposts for the club.
Chairman Marty Duffy, in his address spoke of his pride to be chairman of the club and his hopes for 2022 following the difficulties of the past two years because of Covid.
He acknowledged the huge success the campervan fundraiser was and accredited great praise to all involved in the running of the project who were all from within the club.
He looks forward to the opening of the new clubhouse which will put it on a par with many great grounds throughout the country. He thanked Project Manager, Joe Cawley for all his work, some of which goes unseen by many.
He welcomed our inclusion in the Healthy Club Initiative and has great hope it will get more people involved in the club. Health and Wellbeing is a very important part of our living. The programme is headed up within the club by Lisa Lynott.
He acknowledged Lackan Wind Energy for their continued support to the club who help to further all projects undertaken in the club.
He expressed his delight to see the Sligo minors win the Connacht title with two clubmen involved, namely Brian Duffy and selector John Paul Carden.
He thanked all the outgoing committee members who undertook roles with great enthusiasm.
He wished Cathal Mullaney all the best in his future plans as he steps aside from his role as PRO.
