At the club AGM on Friday last the following officers were elected for 2020- Chairman: Padraig Hallinan, Vice Chairman: Adrian Smyth, Secretary/ PRO: Frances Hanley, Treasurer: Mary Gordon, Children's Officer: Mary Kilgannon, Cultural Officer: Sean Kilgannon, Registrar: Imelda Mc Nulty, County Board delegate: Padraig Hallinan, Players rep: Mattie Lang.
Noel Mullaney,Sooey(yearly ticket) was the winner of €143 in the 50 /50 draw. Next draw on Sunday, Dec 15. Play online at Tickets €2 or three for€5. Yearly ticket of €50 may also be purchased which guarantees entry into every draw for one year. Contact any club officer.
Tickets are on sale for our Dinner Dance on January 18 in the Radisson Hotel, Sligo. Cost €35. Tickets would make the perfect Christmas present. 
Well done to Keelan Kilrehill on a terrific performance at the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon on Sunday last.
The club extends deepest sympathy to Joe Burns and family on the death of his aunt Mary Foley, Dromore West. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sí.

Drumcliffe Rosses Point GAA Club notes
We had a very enjoyable evening last Friday in Rathcormac for our end-of-season Juvenile Awards Ceremony. Sincere thanks go to our special guests, DRP senior footballers Denise Regan and Avril Clancy, Sligo hurler Brian Shannon and Donegal All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Paul 'Papa' Durcan who joined us to present the medals to our various teams at the end of a memorable 2019 for the club. Thank also to the players families and coaches for their tremendous encouragement and support over the past 12 months. A special mention too for all those who helped out on the night - from the catering to the slideshow. It all helped to provide for a very enjoyable occasion. 

The club is pleased to confirm that Fergal O'Flaherty has agreed to continue as men's senior team manager for the 2020 season. This young team continues to show plenty of promise. Roll on the New Year.

The DRP Club AGM takes place this Sunday, December 15th, in the new meeting room upstairs in Oxfield, starting at 8pm. All club members are welcome to attend.

The Sligo GAA Convention takes place this Thursday, Dec 12th, in the Clayton Hotel at 7:30pm.

The popular Benbulben 5K road race will take place on Sunday, Dec 29th at Oxfield. The walk takes place at 11:40am with the run starting at 12pm.

Married v Singles 2019


With Christmas fast approaching, anticipation is building locally for our annual charity match, Married vs Singles. This year’s game will take place on Saturday, December 28th at 2pm in Quigabar, with all funds raised going towards Brendan’s Lyme Aid. This is a worthy cause deserving of everyone’s support. More details on this festive cracker in the coming weeks…


U13 presentation


Our U-13s received their Feile winners medals last weekend. Thanks to the Diamond Coast for their hospitality, and our county minors Gavin Duffy and Oisin Hynes for making the presentation. Roll on 2020!


Friday night coaching


Our Friday night indoor coaching programme is continues every Friday. U-8s from 6-7pm, U-10s from 7-8pm and U-12s from 8-9pm. All welcome!


Defibrillator training


There will be defibrillator training – and refresher training for anyone who has done it previously – taking place shortly in the area. Please contact Breda Sheridan on 087 9674673 if you’re interested in taking the training.

Well done to Eoghan Rua’s Leah Duffy on receiving a Rising Star award last week for her performances for the Sligo U-16 team in 2019.




There was no winner of last weekend’s blotto draw. Next week’s jackpot will be for €9200, with the draw taking place in McNulty’s. Thanks to all players for their continued support.

St. John's GAA Club notes
Annual General Meeting
The St Johns GAA club AGM was held on Sunday Dec 1st in The Sligo Park Hotel. The Chairman, Seamus Casey welcomed the large attendance and began the meeting with a prayer to remember the deceased of our club. Detailed reports on club activities followed from (i)Secretary, Sarah Mc Namara , (ii) Treasurer, Seamus Reilly, (iii)Chairman of Bord na nOg, Fergal Kelly (iv) Coaching Officer, Gerry Quinn, (v) Team  Management Reports from Intermediate, Junior, Minor, and all underage boys and girls teams, Chairman of the Ladies club, Liam Kelly , Pitch Committee Chairman, Niall Gordon, and The Lotto Committee. These were followed by the Chairman's Address in which he detailed the many and varied activities of our club during 2019, with many highlights including our U14 girls winning their All Ireland Feile competition, Our U14 boys winning their League, St Johns winning The Healthy Club Award, the successful hosting of Feile Na nOg and an International Tournament,the successful 24 hour Walk and Talk in Cuilbeg around the newly installed walk path. He said that none of these achievements could have taken place were it not for the very many volunteers who selflessly gave of their time and expertise to provide great facilities, give brilliant coaching and mentoring to young players and provide catering and a welcome for visiting teams and officials and he expressed his heartfelt thanks to all of these volunteers.

Annual Club Mass
On Saturday next Dec 14th our annual club Mass will take place in St Johns Church, Carraroe at 7.30pm. Afterwards there will be a presentation of medals to our Under 12 and Under 14 Boys teams and Under 14 Girls who won their competitions. These will take place in The Carraroe Social Centre.
