St. Farnan's GAA Club notes
Tickets are selling very well for our Dinner Dance on Saturday night in the Radisson Hotel. Does open at 630 with dinner being served at 7 30 sharp. Medal presentations will take place on the night to the ladies teams , junior team, intermediate team and St. Farnan's/ St. Pat's minor team. Special guest is Emlyn Mulligan. Music and Disco is by Jason Moyles. Raffle on the night with terrific prizes. This promises to be a great night. Tickets cost €35.
Anyone interested in coaching or helping with underage teams should contact chairman Padraig Hallinan. All help would be much appreciated.
Underage hurling training continues in Easkey Sports Hall this week for all ages. All new players welcome, boys and girls.

St Johns GAA Lights Up 2020
Come along and join in our community walk in Cuilbeg every Tuesday and Thursday. The walkway is suitable for all ages and abilities and is open to members and non-members alike. Lights will be on from 6.30pm to 8.30pm beginning Tues 14th January. 
As part of the Ireland Lights Up initiative and RTE's Operation Transformation 2020, St Johns will turn on the floodlighting for our whole community and allow everyone to enjoy healthy walks along our pathway in a safe and bright environment during the dark winter nights of January and February 2020.
St Johns LOTTO
The last draw took place on Sat Jan 4th.The numbers drawn were 10, 13, 21 and 24. There was no winner of the Jackpot prize. The winners of the E25 consolation prizes were Claire Jennings, Carraroe; Martina Doyle, Drumiscabole; Tom Mc Gowan, Aughamore and Francie O'Brien, Skreen. The next draw will take place next Sat Jan 18th. Girls Football
Five of our girls team traveled to The Connacht Centre Of Excellence on Thurs last for Thursday Night Lights football. They were Ellie Filan, Sadbh Williams, Chloe Clerkin, Failenn Mc Loughlin and Ella Boland. Well done ladies for taking part on a cold winters night and a big thanks to the chauffeurs.
St Johns club wish to extend their sympathy to Geraldine and Niall Gordon and family on the recent passing of Geraldine's mother, Delia Mc Hugh,RIP,in Tuam. Also the whole Carraroe community was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Packie Ward,RIP, Carnamodda. To his wife Philomena, daughter Mairead and sons Brian and Noel and their families we offer our deepest sympathies.

Shamrock Gaels GAA Club notes
The club is pleased to confirm Glen McDermott has been appointed Senior Manager for 2020 with Stephen Sheeran as coach and trainer. We wish Glen and his team the best of luck for the year ahead.

The annual underage awards were presented last weekend with winners medals presented to the U18 Boys B League, U16 Girls C Championship, U14 Boys B Championship, U12 Girls A Plate winners and runners up medals to U16 Boys B Championship, U14 Girls B Championship and U12 Boys B Championship. Thanks to Senior and Sligo players David Quinn and Karl McKenna who presented the medals. The player of the year awards went to, U10 Joseph O'Connor, Katie Gilligan; U12 Matthew Potter, Aoibheann Conlon; U14 Adam O'Carroll, Cheyanne Casey; U16 Shane Dwyer, Ruby Clark; U18 Amy Healy, Brendan Hailstones with Lee Deignan picking up the overall Player of the Year award. Thanks to the Kearns family for their continued sponsorship of these awards in memory of Leo and Phil Kearns. 

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot last weekend with the numbers drawn 9, 14, 21 and 24. There was one match 3 winner, Seamus Galvin, Riverstown while Marie Jinks won the house draw. The jackpot now stands at €3,200 with the next draw on Saturday 25th in Tommy Macs.

Tickets are now in circulation for the annual club draw with 20 great prizes including a first prize of a Renault Clio. Tickets are €10 each available from any club member with all proceeds going directly to the club - please support.

Well done to the Sligo U20 team on a good win over Fermanagh at the weekend and to Gaels players involved, Daniel Lyons, Evan Lyons, Sean Carroll, Dillon McDermott, James Carroll and Shane Deignan. Well done also to James Carroll and Sligo IT who had a good win over University of Limerick today and now take on Letterkenny IT in the quarter final next Sunday.

The club wish to express sympathy Fr Yashin Jos on the death last week of his father in India. We also express sympathy with the family and relatives of Gerry McCormack, Coolaney and formerly of Ballindoon who died recently and Packie Ward, Carraroe who died at the weekend.

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club notes

Date for your diary


Our annual club dinner dance will take place on Saturday, February 15th in the Diamond Coast Hotel. We’ll have more details in the coming weeks. Our club AGM will be at the end of January/start of February – a date will be confirmed in due course.


County scene


Gavin Duffy started at corner forward for the Sligo U-20s in their 1-9 to 0-10 win over Fermanagh in the Philly McGuinness Cup on Saturday last. Sligo play Leitrim in their final group match next weekend.


Defibrillator training


There will be defibrillator training – and refresher training for anyone who has done it previously – taking place shortly in the area. Please contact Breda Sheridan on 087 9674673 if you’re interested in taking the training.




The blotto jackpot has hit €10000! There was no winner of last Saturday’s jackpot of €9800. Next Saturday’s draw takes place in the Ocean Sands Hotel. Thanks to all players for the continued support.

St. Molaise Gaels GAA Club Notes

Our  “Operation Transformation Programme will continue on Monday evening next Jan 20th. Our first weekly Group walk will start from the Car Park on Saturday morning next Jan 18th at 10.00am.

Well done to Robbie Ryan and Joseph Keaney who featured in Sligo U20 side that  defeated Fermanagh at the weekend.

Our next Club Lotto draw of will take place on Tuesday Jan 28th  at 8.30pm in the Clubhouse. Thanks to all for their continued support for this important Club fundraiser.

Our first Club Meeting of the Year will take place this Tuesday evening Jan 14th at 9.00pm.

The Club extends sincere sympathies to the Dolan family Cliffoney on the death of Sean Dolan. Sean transported many teams from our Club and community all over Sigo and further afield for many years.

Cloonacool GAA Club notes
The 10th annual Cloonacool 5k Road Race takes place this year on Sunday 2nd February at 12pm. The race is a Fast Flat course and plenty of PBS are expected. 
Starting at the Community Pitch, Cloonacool (Postcode:F91EC65)
Runners, Joggers, Walkers all welcome. Entry on the day from 10:30 at pitch. Race starts at 12.
Entry fees €10 for adults, €5 for children and €25 for a family. 
Changing and shower facilities available. Refreshments afterwards.   

Well done to all that have completed the first week of OT. We had our Sunday morning walk if a lovely fresh sunny day in the forest walk in tubbercurry. A good crowd turned up.
Classes continue as usual on Tues evening's and Sat morning. Midweek walk in Rathscanlan forest walk in tubbercurry at 6pm on Wednesday. Next Sunday walk is around mount taffe in Masshill. Parking is at mass rock and we'll walk 2/3k and turn and walk back.
