The County Board wishes to apologise to both Easkey and Ballymote GAA Clubs for the non playing of the Minor Football Division 2 League Final  between the Clubs in Scarden last night. Unfortunately the gates had been inadvertently closed by a contractor working earlier that day on the pitches and this prevented access for some time. The pitch however should have been lined and this would have allowed the game to proceed albeit later than the planned throw in. With every new venture there are teething problems. We will now be putting steps in place to try and ensure that this does not happen again. Again apologies to both Clubs and to their travelling support. On this occasion we got it wrong and we hold our hands up. Much work done.More to do. We ask for the football public's understanding and continued support in our venture at Scarden.
