Hard luck to our u/14 team who went down narrowly  to Tourlestrane away in the league last week-end. We are amalgamated with Tubbercurry for underage football again this year. Our season got underway on Saturday evening last with a defeat away to Enniscrone/Kilglass in the Abbot cup, nevertheless it was encouraging to see some new faces among the starting fifteen who tried very hard to make an impression against a seasoned opposition. It was disappointing that more supporters did not travel to support the team on this occasion, and we hope this situation improves as the season progresses. Training continues on Tuesday and Friday evenings at the usual time. All players from the club area are asked to give their full support to the team and management for the year ahead. Any player wishing to join the panel should contact club officers Bill Carty, Brian McIntyre, and Fergus Leonard in the coming days. All coaches and managers are asked to contact Tom Towey  club P.R.O. with teams and results for publication by Saturday evening for the following week.
Well done to the Sligo minor team on a good win over Leitrim in the Connacht minor league, also the Sligo U/21 team who had a great result versus Roscommon in the Connacht Championship semi-final in Kiltoom last week.
Hard luck to the Sligo senior team on Sunday last with defeat to Offaly in the national league.
Sympathy is extended to the Naughton family, Castleconnor on their recent bereavement.
