St Michael's hosted Geevagh in round 2 of the senior league on Sunday morning last.
Playing into a strong wind St Michaels started well with Louise Taffe pointing after a few minutes. The girls battled hard making Geevagh work hard for each score and an excellent goal from Grainne O Loughlin brought the team to within one point with 10 mins left in the half. Geevagh put in a strong finish to the half with a goal from Stephine O Reilly putting  8 points between the team's at the interval. With the wind advantage St Michael's tried hard but could not reduce the gap between the team's. A goal from a penalty by Lauren Boles gave a fairer reflection on the score line at the final whistle. In goals Shauna Kelly pulled off some great saves while Katie McDermott and Shona Gorman played well in the backs. Darra O Loughlin and Ailish Kelly continuing to put in good performances while in midfield Grainne O Loughlin and Louise Haran covered a lot of ground linking well between the backs and forwards. The half forward line of Lauren Boles, Louise Taffe and Megan McDermott had some good moments with Sara Feeney showing well in the full forward line. Rachael Feeney played well when introduced along with Rachel Cosgrove at half time.
Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm.
