On behalf of "Inclusion &
Games for all" Committee we wish to thank all who contributed to
"Have a go Day" Event held today in Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence in
Scarden....
Pat Kilcoyne & Ross Donovan looked after football. Natasha McDonald displaying the ladies football skills. Claire Maguire & her
Rounders Team another GAA activity which is really catching on. The hurling
skills were displayed by Stephen Whelan and his young hurlers from
Coolera/Strandhill. The amazing skills of the Wheelchair hurlers & Handball
drew the attention of our Senior Footballers proving that their skills went
further than the playing fields. The wheelchair hurling was looked after by Tim
Hynes & Handball was in the capable hands of Gerard Coleman. We had
information stands on Health & Wellbeing with Trevor Coen supplying the information. The County Scór Committee were also in
attendance with live music from the newly formed "No Name" Trad
Group. Catherine Gallagher & Keith Mac Éinrí would be delighted to recruit new members to represent the county
in future Scór competitions & hoping to have a representation in the All
Ireland Scór Sinsir Final to be held in Sligo in 2018...Thanks to all the
children & parents that attended & supported today's event....Thanks to
all the stewards from Calry/St.Joseph's GAA Club.. Anyone interested in being
involved in any of the activities on display today the contact details will be
posted later along with pictures of today's event. Finally thanks to Niall
Carew & Senior Footballers for their attendance today & signing
autographs for the young fans... sincere best wishes to Nialll & Team who
