Our U16 hurlers had a busy week last week. First up was the league play-off against Benbulben Gaels on Monday where we emerged victorious on a  7-4 to 3-4 iscoreline. Captain Donal Keaveny, Darragh Cawley, Ethan Scully, Liam O'Kelly-Lynch and Darragh Feehily were outstanding on the night. Fergal O'Kelly-Lynch capped a fine performance with 5 goals to his name. Other scorers: Keelan Davey 1-0, Oisin Davey 1-0, Aaron Mulvey 0-2, Darragh Cawley 0-1, Liam O'Kelly-Lynch 0-1.

The victory over Benbulben Gaels meant we qualified for the U16 league final versus Easkey/St Farnans in Markievicz Park on Thursday. Our lads put in a sterling effort in the first half and, level 1-6 to 0-9 at half-time, it looked as if a shock might be on the cards. However our opponents made the most of their chances in the second half to win 4-17 to 2-10. Although defeated, our lads can take heart from their performances tonight. Goalkeeper Michael Munnelly was unquestionably our man-of-the-match. Debutant Rian Gorman was impressive, as were defenders Paul Gallagher, Keelan Davey and Donal Keaveny. Midfielders Darragh Feehily and Liam O'Kelly-Lynch worked tirelessly over the 60 minutes. Stephen Mahon also gave a good account for himself. Ethan Scully got 2-5 from frees, with Fergal O'Kelly-Lynch contributing the remaining five points.

A major fundraising event for our u14 FĂ©ile na nGael hurling team takes place this Sunday when we have our 50km solo-run in Mitchell-Curley Park. The event commences at 5pm. All players are asked to continue their efforts to get sponsorship.

On Wednesday 31st May are U10 hurlers are scheduled to participate in a blitz hosted by Tubberrcurry.

Training continues in Kevinsfort on Wednesday evenings for our underage and senior teams.
