Pride of place this week goes to the Cloonacool/Tubbercurry U/21 team who recaptured the County championship title for the first time in ten years. After a hard fought victory over neighbours Tourlestrane on Saturday evening last in very winter-like conditions. This very exiting game went all the way to the wire and finished with a hard fought win for the away side by the narrowest of margins on a 2-12 to 1-14 scoreline. Our club was represented on the field of play by Oisin Grehan, Jordan Brennan, Conor Prendergast, Aaron Moylan and Gerard Mullarkey. The management team included James Lawrence, Kevin Gallagher, and Fergus Leonard. This brings the curtain down on a long playing season and now everybody can take a well earned rest. The club are seeking contestants to represent it at Junior and Senior Scor in the coming weeks and months. All those interested should contact cultural officer Belinda Henry, Secretary Fergus Leonard or vice-chairman and chairman Brian McIntyre and Bill Carty respectively in the coming days and weeks.
Congrats to the Cloonacool/Tubbercurry minor hurling team who won the minor hurling Expert Electrical shield final recently. Well done lads
