This is a great opportunity for the whole community to get a little fitter, shed a few pounds, break some bad habits, meet up with some old friends and make some new ones.

30 Year Celebration Book

Our 30 year celebration book is on sale in local shops and from club members. The book is full of interesting articles from club members and local celebrities and tells the story of our club since it was founded in The Carraroe Social Centre in 1987. It tells stories of the joys and sorrows, the wins and losses of our club teams over those years and the effects they have had on the players and those involved with the teams. It is a great publication and it would make an ideal present for somebody at home or abroad.

Stephen’s Day Home Boys V Away Boys

On St Stephen’s Day in Stenson Park at the early hour of 11.00 AM ! a very enjoyable charity football match took place where many of our former players who are now living far-distant from Carraroe came back to show their skills against the present St Johns Senior team. Each panel had about 20 players to choose from and this allowed rotation, which no doubt contributed to the enjoyment as well-fed bodies were allowed a rest for a few minutes at a time. The skill level on show were encouraging despite the passage of time since some had played serious football and I have no doubt that if we could get some of these lads back playing with us again that the Owen B Hunt cup would soon find a new resting place. A great morning’s enjoyment was had by all- no doubt enhanced by the hot catering supplied by the social committee. A big thanks is due to all who helped to make this such a special occassion  Check the St John’s Facebook page for some interesting photos.

Season’s Greetings

St Johns hope all club members, sponsors and supporters had a very happy Christmas and we wish you all a peaceful and healthy New Year
