The Senior footballers had a very good win away to Bunninadden on Saturday evening last. Falling behind to a goal and a point in the first 4 minutes the lads battled back to win the game by double scores 2-16 to 1-08. Eoin Doherty's free taking, a penalty save from the always inspiring Aidan Devanney, penetrating runs from Brian Cox, Conor Griffin as busy as ever at full forward along with steady play throughout the team all especially the midfield diamond of Mark Fowley, Vinny Nally, Damian O'Boyle and Darragh Cummins, all were pivotal in an outstanding team performance.
Next up for the lads is a visit from Geevagh, this game will be in Scarden  next Saturday evening.
Because of the unavailability of our main pitch, or underage Academy has relocated to our facility on the Clarion Road. Training is as normal here every Saturday at 10 AM. Entry can be gained to the pitch via the rear of Ballinode College.
The under 12 girls had their first league outing on Thursday evening last away to Naomh  Molaise Gaels. A very young team travelled down to Grange with 10 of the team being of the under 10 age group and only 3 regular under 12. The girls performed very well under the circumstances but unfortunately on this occasion the victory went to the north Sligo girls. The girls play Drumcliffe/Rosses point this Friday night at Ballinode.
The hurlers claimed the first silverware of the year defeating Coolera/Strandhill in the Martin Brennan Cup on Sunday by 3-11 to 1-10.
Our first underage Hurling team in years takes to the field for Championship action this Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in Ballinode.
Well done to all the lads for making this happen!!
