Our under 21 team enjoyed a good win in their second game of the B championship when they defeated Geevagh/ St. Michael's by 5-15 to 2-7 in Templeboy on Saturday morning. This was a much improved performance from the team with a good number of players finding themselves on the scoreboard. The team got a great start with fine points from both Iarla O'Connor and Mark Devaney before Geevagh/ St. Michael's took the lead with awell worked goal from Ryan Walsh. This lead was short lived as St. Farnan's added a number of points to lead by 0-10 to 1-3. Ryan Walsh added a second goal to reduce the margin. A goal from Gavin Connolly , however widened the gap as we led 1-11 to 2-3.
After the break a second goal from James Weir meant that St. Farnan's were beginning to control the game and there would only be one outcome. St. Farnan's added all their substitutes in this half as they headed for victory. This was a real team effort with the players making the most of their scoring chances. The team was Kieran Devaney, David Hallinan, Fergal Ryan, Shane O' Brien, James Weir (1-2), Cahán Hallinan, Gavin Connolly (1-0), Kevin Mc Gee (0-1), Niall Crean, Finnian Cawley'(0-7(3f), Mark Devaney (1-1), Iarla O'Connor (1-2), Gavin Calpin (1-2(1f).
