Underage coaching
Our
underage pre-Christmas coaching concluded with an excellent workout last Friday
with Liam Og Gormley. Thanks to all our coaches, parents and players for their
great efforts over the past five weeks, with significant improvement in skill
levels. We’ll notify parents of a resumption in activities on the coaching
front early in the New Year.
DJ visits
Kilkenny legend DJ Carey visited Quigabar last Saturday as he attended a
coaching session and the end of year presentation for Western Gaels Hurling
Club. Well done to everyone involved in the club on a lot of progress in 2018 –
here’s to an even better 2019.
Married vs Singles 2019
We’ll hold
our annual Christmas Charity match on Sunday, December 30th at 2pm
in Quigabar. As always, we encourage as many people as possible to turn out to
support our chosen charity, which will be confirmed shortly. All the comings
and goings on the managerial and playing front will be on our social media
channels in the build-up…so keep an eye out!
County Board
Congratulations to club
chairperson Declan Rouse on his election as Sligo GAA Vice-Chairperson last
Wednesday evening at the annual convention. Best wishes too to Bart Barrins
from Castleconnor who assumes the role of PRO.
Club lapel pins
There are a
limited number of lapel pins showcasing the club crest – and importantly the
correct spelling of Enniscrone as Gaeilge agus as Béarla – available at
present. They are a quality item that would make a great Christmas present, and
also show your support for the upcoming plebiscite on the town name. They are
available from any committee member for €10.
Sympathy
The club
extends its sympathies Cawley family on the passing of Margaret Cawley. Ar
dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
Blotto
There was
no winner of last weekend’s blotto draw. The draw continues every Saturday
night, with next week’s draw in the Pilot Bar. This week’s jackpot will be €4000.
