Huge congratulations to our former club player James Hynes who picked up the Senior Player of the Year award for his club North London Shamrocks. This award was richly deserved. James has also been featuring on the London team in their recent league matches. It is very heartening to see a St. Farnan's players doing so well and the club is very proud of his achievements. Well done James.
The winners of €175 in the 50 /50 draw were Senan, Cailin and Katie Carolan, Drogheda. Next draw on Sunday, March 24.
Commiserations to Fionn Connolly who was part of the Summerhill team which was defeated in the Connaught schools B final on Saturday last.
Well done to St. Farnan's/ St. Pat's minor football team who got their league campaign off to a winning start defeating Easkey/ Enniscrone/ Kilglass by 3-10 to 1-9 in Quigabar on Monday last.
A final reminder to all that club registration fees must be paid by March 31. Players must be registered to comply with insurance regulations.
The playing season gets underway for our intermediate team when they play St. John's in the quarter final of the Benson Cup on Saturday next at 4.30 pm in Stenson Park. On Sunday next Easkey/ St. Farnan's under 16 football team play away to Curry in the first round of the A league. On Sunday also our hurlers with Easkey play Calry/ St. Joseph's whilst Western Gaels play Tourlestrane. Easkey got their league campaign off to a winning start on Sunday defeating Carrick by 2-12 to 1-6.
Easkey/ St. Farnan's under 14 football team will be hosting a team in the All Ireland football Féile on June 28/29/30. B and B's and hotels in the area please take note that accommodation will be required for parents and families that weekend.
The club extends sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of the late Marian Hegarty, Galway. Marian's father Eddie won a Junior championship medal with Templeboy in 1943. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sí.
