James Carr who lined out for Mayo in the National League final is a son of Martin Carr who along with his brothers Mark and Michael played football for St. Farnan's. We congratulate him on his great success.
It was a busy week for our underage players with many teams in action. On Monday  last Easkey/  St Farnan's under 16 team were defeated by Shamrock Gaels 7-11 to 1-5. This game was played in very wintry conditions in Easkey. On Monday our hurlers with Easkey we're defeated by a very strong Carrick side in the Táin league in Bekan. On Tuesday last Easkey/ St. Farnan's two under 12 football teams played Tubbercurry/Cloonacool in division 1and 3. Both teams were defeated despite battling hard on a very cold night.
Our under 21 team were defeated by Castleconnor on Friday night in Scarden on a score of 3-13 to 1-13. All three of Castleconnor's goals came in the first half and despite battling hard in the second half we couldn't reduce the deficit. At half time the score read Castleconnor 3-6, St. Farnan's 0-7. Castleconnor's Sean Carrabine  amongst others played a key role for the opposition. St. Farnan's team was Eamonn Kilgannon, Fergal Ryan, David Hallinan, James Weir, Shane O'Brien, Gavin Connolly (0-3,2f), Kevin Mc Gee (0-1), Mark Devaney, Stephen Mulligan (0-1), Ronan Molloy (0-3), Evan Kilrehill, Iarla O'Connor (0-4). Subs: Thomas Cawley (0-1f) for Evan Kilrehill, Fionn Connolly (1-0) for Oisin Connolly, Simon Mullarkey, Sean Hallinan, Eoin Gordon, Conor Gordon, Shane Molloy. On Sunday the team received a walk over from Coolera/ Strandhill.
On Tuesday Western Gaels under 12 hurlers defeated Easkey 0-8 to 0-0. On Thursday Easkey/ St. Farnan's under 14 football team were defeated by Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on a score of 3-7 to 1-20. On Wednesday  At. Farnan's under 8's were in action in a West Sligo blitz in Enniscrone and did very well in all their games.
  On Saturday at 5pm in Ransboro our hurlers with Easkey play Coolera/ Strandhill in the league whilst Western Gaels play Cluainin in Enniscrone. On Sunday our under 21 team play Geevagh/ St. Michael's in Templeboy at 3.30 pm.
Easkey/ St Farnan's under 14 football team will host Shane O'Neill's, a team from Armagh in this year's football Féile on June 28/ 29/30. Hotel and B and B owners in the area - please note that parents and supporters will be seeking accommodation that weekend.
