Senior Ladies

Well done to our Senior Ladies on a comprehensive win against Coolera/Strandhill last Sunday. Fair play girls keep up the good work!

U16 Girls

Hard luck to the U16 Girls who lost out to Coolera/Strandhill last Monday in their first outing this season in the League. Head up girls and keep up the hard work!

 

U14 Boys

U-14 A league result: Tubbercurry/Cloonacool 10-2 Owenmore Gaels 7-18
As the scoreline suggests a very open game, well done to the lads on getting the win and off to a good start in the league last Thursday. All the squad was utilised and contributed to a great spectacle

 

U12 Girls

Well done to the U-12 girls on a great performance and a great win against Eastern Harps on Friday evening. Excellent stuff girls keep up the good work!

 

GoGames Blitz

Connolly Park had the pleasure of hosting a GoGames blitz for U8 & U10 East Division teams last Wednesday in what was a fun and entertaining evening. Well done to all who participated.

 

Féile Peile na nÓg

Owenmore Gaels are delighted to announce that we are hosting two teams for this year's Féile Peile na nÓg. Our Boys team will host a team from Co. Antrim and the Girls team will host a team from Warickshire, UK. The feile will be held from June 28-30. We look forward to giving both of these clubs a big Owenmore Gaels Failte. More details to follow over the coming weeks.

 

Gaelic4Girls

Well done to all who participated in the Gaelic4Girls blitz last Saturday in Connolly Park. Children attended in great numbers in what was a great day for all. Thanks to all who helped out on the day

Owenmore Gaels are the only Sligo Club selected to run the Gaelic4Girls program. This is an initiative by the LGFA
•To provide a fun, 12 week programme for girls between 8-12 to get involved in girls football in a non-competitive environment.
•To develop athletic and social skills for girls in a safe and nurturing environment

Nursery Programme 2019

Owenmore Gaels are hosting a Nursery Programme in the Teeling Centre Collooney. It continues this Wednesday from 6-7pm. This is an introduction to Gaelic Football for kids in the community in a fun filled environment. It will run for 6 weeks and it’s €2 per child. This is aimed for children aged between 4-6, born in 2013-2014. Parents are invited to participate in activities. Any queries please contact Paddy Watters on 0858512889.

Coaching Workshop

There is a foundation course taking place at the end of the month in Summerhill college.
This is ESSENTIAL for anybody who is or wants to get involved in coaching.
It is an extremely informative and worthwhile course, giving great knowledge and ideas for working with kids development.

Pitchside Signs

The club are currently reaching out to local businesses to advertise at Connolly Park in the form of a pitch side sign.

Lotto

The Lotto draw took place in The Owenmore Inn on Monday 1st April. The numbers drawn were 10, 11, 20 & 21.

There was no winner of the €10,000 Jackpot. Congrats to our ‘Match 3’ Winners John Hughes & Veronica Kelly who win €50 each.

The next draw for our €10,000 Jackpot will take place on Monday 15th April in The Connollys Bar.

Club Marathon Relay Fundraising Event

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a Marathon Relay on Sunday 28th April in Connolly Park.

Members of Owenmore Gaels will run the distance of a marathon (42,195 metres) in a relay format. The event starts at 2pm. Contact Gary Mullen 0868389731 for more information.
