Bunninadden just about managed to edge out St Pat's in a keenly contested game on a scoreline of 4-9 to 3-11 at Ballinaleck Community Park on Saturday evening last. Indeed were it not for the profligacy of the opposition forwards the result would have been different. Some of their misses had to be seen to be believed and although the home side were not faultless in this regard  either their ability to breach their opponents defence  at crucial times proved decisive.

The home side started as if they were going to dominate and with their midfielders in fine form and wing forward C Murray winning lots of good possession they raced into a five point lead B Cafferky converted a penalty after a great surging run from.M Gormley. But the hardworking visitors slowly but surely got a grip and had whittled the lead back to a point before the home side struck again through D Cafferky after good work by R McManus and B Cafferky.  But despite two further points by the excellent Murray it was Pat's who led at the break having goaled twice in two minutes just before half-time through P Boland and D Mahon.

Leading 2-7 to 2-6 at the break early Pat's pressure yielded only one point before M Gorman displayed great composure to hit his sides third goal on 36 mins.  But Pat's rallied again and when substitute J Clarke goaled middway through the half to give his side a two point cushion it looked as if they were going to prevail but there was always likely to be another goal and again it was D Cafferkey who found the Pat's net. His brother Barry who had been a constant thorn in the side of his opponents followed up with his fifth point of the day with 5 mins remaining and despite numerous chances at the other end all the losers could muster was one more point through thr influential N Connolly.
