Junior B

Our Junior B footballers kept their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages of the league alive when they overcame the challenge of Castleconnor at Quigabar last Friday evening. 3-6 to 1-7 ahead at half time, our lads ended as 3-11 to 1-12 winners. They play Coolera/Strandhill away next weekend – at the time of writing a time and date had yet to be confirmed.

U-14

Our U-14s are set for a very busy week. On Monday evening (June 24th) they take on Shamrock Gaels in the B League semi-final in Quigabar from 7pm. Then, from Friday, they will play host to St Manchan’s Gaels of Offaly for this year’s Feile Peile na nÓg. The action begins in Quigabar on Friday evening, when our lads open their campaign against Butlersbridge of Cavan at 5.30pm. Then immediately after that at 6.15pm, they take on Curry. On Saturday morning, they play their final group game against St Manchan’s Gaels, and after that the competition moves to the knockout stages. Best of luck to the team and management; we as a club look forward to welcoming St Manchan’s Gaels to the parish for the weekend.

U-12

Our U-12 footballers host Castleconnor on Tuesday evening at 7pm in Quigabar.

Nursery

Our Under 6 GAA nursery program continues every Monday from 6.15pm to 7pm in the indoor Astro turf in Quigabar. This is for boys and girls born in 2013 & 2014. Kids are asked to wear appropriate gear and bring bottle of water. All welcome.

County scene

Two second half goals from Gavin Duffy helped Sligo get the better of Roscommon in last Friday’s Connacht Minor Championship match on a scoreline of 2-15 to 4-7 at Markievicz Park. Oisin Hynes also contributed a point, as Sligo now progress to take on Mayo in the provincial semi-final this Wednesday (June 26th) at 7.30pm in McHale Park, Castlebar. Please try to support the team and our clubmen Michael, Gavin and Oisin for this fixture. Elsewhere, congratulations to the Sligo hurlers on their magnificent Nicky Rackard Cup final  win over Armagh in Croke Park and commiserations to the Sligo footballers, who exited the championship at the hands of Offaly.

Blotto

The blotto draw continues every Saturday night. There was no winner of last week’s jackpot, so next week’s draw will be for €4400. Thanks to all players for the continued support.
