Senior Football
Our senior team played out a thrilling 1-12 to 0-15 point draw with
local rivals St Farnans last Sunday in round 3 of the Kennedys Intermediate
championship. After a good start to the match, we led 0-4 to 0-1 but St Farnans
playing with a strong breeze took control and went in at half time leading 0-9
to 0-4. Our lads came out after half time and clawed back the deficit before
Mikie Gordons goal and a further point put us back in the lead by 2 points in
the dying stages. Two late points from St Farnans levelled the game in what was
probably a fair result.
Our lads have no game next weekend and look forward to playing
Castleconnor in round 4 on Saturday 24th August in Quigabar,
Enniscrone at 6.30pm.

U16

to a strong Shamrock Gaels side on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-6 last night Monday
12th August in round 3 of the u16 football championship. They play
St Johns next Monday night 19th August in St Johns for round 4.
Rounders
11 adults travelled to Tymon Park
in Dublin to compete in the mixed event along with 10 teams from all over
Ireland in the National Junior Adult Rounders Feile. This was the teams
inaugural event and after a few initial teething problems they settled in and
played some great rounders. Losing out in the quarter finals 12-19 to a strong Limerick
side na Piarsaigh. We would love new members from the wider Easkey GAA club who
maybe semi- retired from football/ hurling to join rounders and see the level
of skill, athleticism and thinking that is required for this exciting sport.
