St Johns   WALK & TALK 24 HOUR RELAY
The St Johns GAA  club in partnership with The North West Hospice and  Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, Sligo will be holding a Walk & Talk 24 hour relay on Sept 27th and 28th in The Community Field, Cuilbeg. The challenge is for 12 teams walking in relay, continuously for 24 hours, to walk a combined total of 1000km during that time. Sponsorship cards are available from Seamus at 085 2498067. The St Johns portion of the money raised will go towards future development at the GAA grounds in Cuilbeg. Please support our walkers in this worthy venture for our club and these two very deserving local charities.
 
Under 12 Boys
Pride of place in our club this week goes to our U12 Boys team who overcame the challenge of a strong Drumcliffe-Rosses Point team in Scarden on Thurs last to win their U12 final on a scoreline of 21 scores to 17. Well done lads and a big thanks to the management for their hard work with this group.
Junior Football
Our junior team travelled to Templeboy on Sunday to take on the home team St Farnans and an understrength squad suffered a 1-15 to 0-3 defeat. Thanks to the players and management for their efforts throughout the year.
Minor Football
The St Johns/Owenmore Gaels Minor team took on Coolaney- Mullinabreena in Connolly Park, Colooney on Fri last in the fianl group game and they came away with a comprehensive victory by 6 - 13 to 2 - 5. After a shaky start our team built up a half time lead of 4-4 to 2-4 and while the opposition tried hard after the resumption our boys pulled away. Lineout; J Doyle; L Gilligan, R Martin, J Walsh(3-0), M Connolly-McGowan, E Scully, M Walsh(0-4), R Gorman(0-5), K Davey, C Mc Partland(0-1) L Middleton, B Foley, P Mahon(1-0), T Meehan(1-0), N Scanlon (0-1), L Rodgers(0-2), C O'Dwyer, S Kelly, G Mc Grath The boys have now qualified for the semi final where they will meet Calry- St Josephs.
 Under 16 
The St Johns U16 team took on Eastern Harps in Fr Breheny Park, Keash on this Mon in the Championship semi final. The result is available on the Sligo GAA website
Under 14 Boys
Our U14 Boys team travel to Shamrock Gaels Park, Coola on Thurs 19th to take on the locals Shamrock Gaels in the Championship semi final. We wish them and their management well as they strive to complete a League and Championship double.
LOTTO 
The numbers drawn in The Clubrooms on Sat last for a Jackpot of E13,750 were 8, 9,19 and 20. There was no winner of the Jackpot prize. The winners of the E25 Consolation prizes were Colm Nevin, Aughamore Near; Seamus Devanney,C/O Gerry Mc Morrow; Yvonne Burns, Temple St. and Tony Mooney, Cairns Hill. The next draw will take place on Sat Sept 28th.
