St. Farnan's/ St. Pat's minor team have made it to the semi finals if the Minor A championship following defeat of Easkey/ Enniscrone/ Kilglass in the final round of the A championship on Friday night in Quigabar by 0-15 to 0-11. This was a very competitive game with both sides working hard throughout. The home side got the better start with Gavin Duffy notching three points without reply, two from frees and one from play. We settled into the game  and at the ten minute mark the sides were level thanks to a point from Jim Davis and two frees from Thomas Cawley. Both sides had goal chances but failed to convert in this period. We dominated the remainder of the half and at the break the score read St. Farnan's/ St. Pat's 0-9, Easkey/ Enniscrone/ Kilglass 0-4.
After the break Darragh Williams replaced Kenneth Mitchell. As in the first half Gavin Duffy opened the scoring for the home side. This was followed by points from Canice Mulligan and Thomas Cawley. Easkey continued to attack, sending high ball into their forward line but Shane Molloy was in excellent form and assisted by his back line cleared the danger. At the fifteenth minute mark James O'Connell replaced Tristan Branley. He could well have found himself on the score sheet after good out field work led to a shot on goal from him which hit the post and the rebound shot from Paul Clarke drifted wide. We resisted pressure from Easkey/ Enniscrone/ Kilglass in the closing minutes and despite the Duffy brothers adding three points, two from frees, they were unable to close the gap.
This was a good team performance all round. The team was Jack Cadden, Niall Hallinan, Jamie O'Carroll, Shane Molloy, Adam Kilrehill (0-1), Canice Mulligan (0-1), David Hallinan, Conor Keaveney (0-1), Paul Clarke , Kenneth Mitchell, Fergal Curran, Fionn Connolly, Jim Davis (0-5(4f), Tristan Branley, Thomas Cawley (0-6(4f). Subs used: Darragh Williams (0-1), James O'Connell.
