Connacht Junior Hurling Final

Good luck to our superb senior hurlers and their management and backroom team, led by manager John Doyle, in the Connacht Junior Hurling Final on Sunday at 2pm in Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Bekan.
The lads have given the club and supporters a fantastic experience, winning the Sligo Senior Hurling Championship for the first time in our 34 year history on 19th October, winning 1-12 to 0-12 against a talented Easkey team, who will return stronger for the experience.

On Monday 28th October the senior hurlers extended their run with a  0-17 to 1-11 win over Leitrim champions and current Connacht Junior champions in the semi-final of the Connacht JHC in Markievicz Park.
Man of the match Tony O'Kelly-Lynch led the scoring with 0-12 from play and frees ably assisted by his brother Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch with 0-4 from play.
We enter more uncharted territory when we face Galway Junior champions Michael Breathnach's in the final, and we ask all Naomh Eoin and Sligo hurling/GAA supporters to join us in Bekan on Sunday to get behind the drive for a Connacht title.
Many thanks to the Doyle family who have generously provided food after training sessions and during our competitive games. Thanks in particular to Janice, Katelynn and Mia for their huge contribution to the team effort this year.

Ring/Rackard/Meagher Champion 15:

Congrats to Gerard O'Kelly-Lynch who was voted by his peers at centre-half forward in the GAA/GPA All Star Champions 15 team with fellow Sligo Rackard Cup winners Keith Raymond and James Weir also joining him in the roll of the best hurlers of the year in the Ring, Rackard and Meagher Cup championships. This was a great honour and achievement for Gerard and his Sligo compatriots on the team.

Hurling/Shinty International
The next day Gerard and Keith travelled up the road to represent Ireland in the annual Hurling/Shinty international v Scotland in Abbotstown GAA Centre of Excellence. Another great honour for Gerard for the second year in a row.
Despite the visitors big win, both Gerard and Keith competed well and played their part in the difficult weather and ground conditions which hindered the hurlers ability to match their Scottish counterparts.

Indoor Hurling
We plan to commence juvenile indoor hurling in the coming weeks. Look out for news on our Facebook and Twitter pages for the details.
