The Senior Ladies lost to St Michaels in the final of the Division 2 Shield on Sunday on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-9. The Gaels put in a great performance and with a point between the teams mid-way through the second half, the Gaels pushed forward but found it difficult to penetrate a blanket defence and ultimately left themselves exposed at the back with St Michaels scoring their second goal with seven minutes left to seal victory. Thanks also to Catherine Tuohy and Simone Kelly for their help during the year and to Michael Brennan who had the pitch in great shape despite the inclement weather during the week.
Well done to Adam Kearns who played with Sligo U16 who had a good win over Longford at the weekend in the Manning Cup and now take on Offaly next Saturday in the semi-final.
