Intermediate

The new season begins for our Intermediate footballers next Sunday afternoon when they play Geevagh away in the Benson Cup. Throw-in is at 2.30pm. Good luck to the players and management for the coming year.

U-21

Our U-21 side saw their championship tie with Calry/St Joseph’s postponed at the weekend. Details of the refixture will be made available in due course.

Membership

As the new season gets underway, membership is now overdue. Thanks to all who registered over the course of two registrations nights in Quigabar. If you or your child has yet to sign up for the new year, please do so at the earliest opportunity by contacting the relevant team manager for details. All players must be registered for insurance purposes.

Friday night coaching

Our Friday night coaching continues every week. U-8s from 6-7pm, U-10s from 7-8pm and U-12s from 8-9pm. The coaching takes place in the indoor astro turf. All welcome.

School success

Well done to Scoil Chriost Rí’s boys on winning the west Sligo GAAmigos skills competition last week.

County scene

Brian Duffy started at corner forward for the Sligo minors in their Ulster Minor League win over Fermanagh last weekend.

Congratulations

The club sends its best wishes to Tom Tuffy, formerly of Culleens, who was chosen as one of the Aides to the Grand Marshal in the New York St Patrick’s Day Parade. Congratulations too to Desmond Beglin, also of Culleens, who is the Guest of Honour at this weekend’s county Sligo Social and Benevolent Association.

The club also sends its congratulations to Castleconnor native Micheál Naughton on his election as the LGFA’s new President.

Blotto

There was no winner of last weekend’s blotto jackpot. Next week’s draw in Gilroy’s will be for a prize of €11,600. Thanks to all players for the continued support.
