The DRP boys under-16 footballers clinched the county 'A' shield title under the lights of Scarden on Friday evening with, what was in the end, a comprehensive 4-13 to 3-5 win.  Opponents Tubbercurry/Cloonacool battled gamely throughout and the sides were level with less than 10 minutes remaining. But DRP finished strongly, scoring an unanswered 2-5 in the closing moments to seal the win. Heartiest congratulations to this group of players who have worked so hard over the past 12 months - and the silverware is a fitting recognition for their efforts. The team is managed by Rowan O'Callaghan and Des McGee.

Our boys under-14 footballers qualified for county 'A' championship final on Sunday with a fine 1-14 to 1-7 win against St Mary's at Oxfield. A gallery of pictures from the game is available to view on the club's Facebook page.

Our senior men's footballers have qualified for the Benson Cup final without kicking a ball. They were given a semi-final walkover by Owenmore Gaels at the weekend. Fergal O'Flaherty's side will now face Sligo's new intermediate champions Curry in the final next Saturday at 5pm.

Seán Power's recent impressive championship performances with the team have seen him re-called to the Sligo senior county panel. He featured in last Friday night's challenge match against Longford, which Sligo lost by a single point.

A big Sunday ahead for the DRP minor girls footballers as they prepare to take on Tourlestrane in the delayed Sligo LGFA 'A' championship final. At the time of writing, we were still awaiting confirmation of the venue and throw-in time for the match. Under the current Covid regulations, 100 spectators will be allowed attend the final. Keep an eye on our website and social media pages for more final info during the week.

There was a lovely touch by the Realt na Mara and Rathcormac National Schools during the week as pupils from both schools congratulated our girls under-12 footballers from both schools, when the cup was brought to the two schools on successive days.

Our thanks to St John's for last Monday's boys under-12 challenge games at Oxfield.

Benbulben Gaels U18 hurlers enjoyed a fine 4-12 to 2-7 win against Tourlestrane in the minor championship at Oxfield last Thursday.
