Friday night coaching:
Indoor coaching programme continues every Friday night in the astro turf. Our thanks to Liam Óg Gormley who took last week’s sessions. Under 9s are between 6pm and 7pm, under 11s between 7pm and 8pm and under 13s are between 8pm and 9pm. All welcome.
All coaches and anyone involved with underage in the club must have their Child safeguarding course completed and up to date. This must be done every three years.
Garda vetting must also be done every three years. Anyone who needs to update either please contact Children’s Officer, Martin McHale.
Team news:
The Intermediate fixtures list is just out with games starting in April. New divisional competition structures see Cloonacool joining the West division.
Training has resumed for Minors and U15 each week. Best of luck to all involved for the coming season.
Good wishes:
Congrats to Gavin Duffy, who started, and Brian Duffy, Con O’Meara (selector) and Cian Mulrooney (S&C) as they got off to a winning start with the Sligo U-20s in the Philly McGuinness Cup on Saturday 26th February away to Fermanagh. This Wednesday coming, they play Longford at Connacht GAA Centre in the rescheduled game where throw-in is at 7.45pm. Then on Saturday 5th March they take on Leitrim in Cloonacool Community Park at 2pm. We wish all involved continued success.
Hard Luck to the Sligo Senior team who’s unbeaten run came to an end against Tipperary on Saturday evening last. We wish our Intermediate player Ciaran O’Dowd, who is on the extended panel and all his teammates the best of luck going forward.
Congrats to our minor player, Darragh Mulrooney who finished 1st in the U17 boys, 1500m at the Connacht Indoors last week.
