Both our senior men’s teams suffered defeats at home in the final rounds of their respective league campaigns. Despite leading at half time, our senior men were unable to sustain a second-half goal fest from Coolera/Strandhill eventually losing by 4-11 to 0-09. The final score line belies the performance from the team as they prepare for the Intermediate Championship and their first game against Geevagh on Saturday week in Kent Park. Congratulations to Coolera/Strandhill who now contest the league final next weekend.

Our Junior Men lost to St Patrick’s on Saturday evening scoring 1-12 to the opposition’s 1-15 in the final fixture of their league campaign. Their attention now turns to the Connacht Gold Junior A Football Championship and their Group 2, first round tie against Shamrock Gaels in Corran Park on August 21st.

On Monday evening last, our U14 Girls suffered defeat to St Farnan’s/St Patrick’s in the Connacht Gold U14 B Championship with a score of 3-06 to the opponent’s 6-09.

Our older U13 Boys were successful in their first round tie against Ballymote/Bunninadden at home on Tuesday evening with a very strong performance in the U13 A Football Championship while our younger boys suffered a one-point defeat away to Shamrock Gaels in their opening round of the C Championship.

Our U19 Men went down to a heavy defeat to Eastern Harps on Wednesday evening in round 3 of the U19 A Football Championship in Monsignor Hynes Park and now travel to Corran Park on Wednesday for round 5 and an encounter with Ballymote/Bunninadden.

The Minor Ladies suffered a home defeat to St Nathy’s on Thursday evening in the Connacht Gold Minor A2 Championship in a high-scoring encounter, final score at Monsignor Hynes Park was 5-17 to 5-05. The girls ere away to Calry/St Joseph’s in the next round on Thursday evening.

Our older U15 Boys had a convincing win over Tubbercurry/Cloonacool on Thursday evening at home in their round 2 fixture in the U15 A Football Championship while the younger lads received a walkover from Tourlestrane in their round 3 tie in the C Championship.

On Friday evening, our U15 Hurlers played Western Gaels in the first round of the U-15 Hurling Championship, but it wasn’t to be for the lads on the night as they were defeated on a 1-12 to 0-06 score line.
