This Saturday night we celebrate 50 years at our Dinner Dance in the Clayton Hotel with proceedings kicking off at 7.30PM with special guest Pat Spillane. We will also be presenting the covid delayed winners medals to our Ladies who won the Junior Championship in 2020 along with the U19 Men who won the Championship this year and player of the year awards. Tickets avaialbe form any committee member.
The last competition of the year takes place next weekend when our U21's take on St Molaise Gaels away in the first round of the knock out Championship - time and date to be confirmed.
Well done and congratulations to Tourlestrane on their 7th Championship victory in a row and also to St Molaise Gaels on winning the Intermediate Championship last weekend.
With all the excitement of last weekend and due to the late-night celebrations, we never got to acknowledge the historic win last Sunday in the Junior A Championship for the first time in the Club's history in an entertaining 2-13 to 1-10 win over St Molaise Gaels. The game was played in extremely difficult conditions and the Gaels made a blistering start however we went in three points down at half time after a late Molaise goal. In a storming second half, Steven Willis kicked six points while the experienced Frank Quinn and Brian Boyd bagged two goals to give the Gaels a deserved victory which now sees us competing in Intermediate Championship for 2023. Well done to this group of players who put in a great effort this year and were justly rewarded. The team was: Ultan McKenna, John Craig (capt), Declan Willis, Shane McCann, Patrick Barrett, Eoin O'Connell, Gavin McMorrow, Conor Merrick, Aaron McKenna, Daire Kearns (0-3), Brian Boyd (1-1), Dylan McKenna, Steven Willis (0-8), Frank Quinn (1-1), Seamus Hailstones. Subs used: Luke Flynn, Conor Kearns, Patrick Kenny. Subs: Jack Duignan, Keith Candon, David Barlow, Aodhan Eivers, Keith McMorrow, Paddy O'Grady, Callum Kennedy, Mark Kearns, Daniel O'Hara, Joe Quinn, Adam Kearns. Thanks to the management team of Mark Tuohy, Keith McMorrow and Vinny Boyd and physio Wayne McNulty for their work with the team this year.
The Senior Ladies had a disappointing day losing the Junior A final to a strong Drumcliffe/Rosses Point team on a score line of 2-14 to 0-5. The Gaels never got going in this game and did not play to their potential but we are sure they will learn from this and be back stronger next year. The team was: Mairead Tuohy (Capt), Hannah Willis, Siobhan Brennan, Ellie McDermott, Louise Merrick, Isobel Clark, Ciara Gilligan, Aoife Morrisroe, Ruby Clark, Erin Mullaney, Jade Lyons, Ceili Faughnan, Naomh Quinn, Catherine Tuohy, Orlaith Scanlon. Subs used: Rachel Boyd, Makayla McLoughlin, Jane Benson, Leanne Galvin. Panel Members: Clodagh Costello, Eilis O'Connor, Roisin Kearns, Sorcha Mullaney, Emma Rainey, Lisa Callaghan, Aine Cogan, Sophie Swan, Meabh Callaghan, Lara Swann, Kate Brehony, Sarah McKeon, Amy Healy, Aoife O'Connor, Meabh McDermott. Thanks to the management team of Liam Gilmartin, Majella Muldowney, Fiona Lyons, Simone Moss and Cara Tighe for their work with the team this year.

The numbers drawn in the lotto last week were 3, 7, 20 and 25. There was no jackpot winner and we had two match 3 winners, Daire Kearns and Eddie Cogan. The jackpot now stands at €3,600 with the next draw on Monday 24th October.
As part of the 50th year celebrations, the club will be publishing a history book next year. The book will not only document the many achievements of the club down through the years but will also share the memories of many club members - anyone wishing to contribute and document their memories are asked to contact the editor Andy Kearns on 087 1472786 or email andykearns1@gmail.com.
The club wish to express sympathy with the Hughes family, Kilmactranny on the passing of Betty Hughes last week and also to the family of Josie McDonagh, Ballinacarrow and formerly of Sooey who also passed away last week.
