Our Senior Ladies were in league action on Sunday morning last with a clash with Eoghan Rua. Played in dry but slippery underfoot conditions, these was very little between the two teams from first whistle to last. Our ladies were first to score with a point from a free from Elaine. Our opponents kicked three points in a row to open up a two-point gap. Two more pointed frees from Elaine levelled matters with five first half minutes to go. A goal from Eoghan Rua in the dying minutes of the first half left the half time score at 1.03 to 0.03. Our ladies opened the scoring in the 2nd half with a point from corner forward Catherine, a goal from Elaine put our Ladies one point to the good midway through he 2nd half, but Eoghan Rua dug deep to kick two point s on the trot entering the last five minutes of the game, a pointed free from Elaine reduced the margin to the minimum and our ladies had one more chance late in injury time to level the game but a resultant attack ended in a narrow wide to leave the full time score at 1.06 to 1.05 in favour of our opponents. Our two Minor County men were again in action over the weekend, Donegal provided the opposition in Round 4 of the Ulster Minor League. Played in Convoy, in difficult underfoot conditions, two goals from Sligo in either half proved decisive. Sligo lead by 1.05 to 0.06. Donegal dominated large period of the second half but the Sligo lads battled away, Donegal ran into a dangerous two-point lead 0,11 to 1.06 lead late in the game before a Sligo free ended up in the back of the net to give the Yeats County a slender one-point victory - 2.06 to 0.11. Well done to our lads who contributed largely to this Sligo win, Dara Mostyn lining out at wing forward and kicked two points while Darragh Mastin was introduced at wing back at half time and helped to keep the ship steady in some testing second half minutes.
