Results
Hard luck to our U-12 girls amalgamation team who lost to St. Marys in their first championship game on Monday evening. There was little between the sides for most of the game, but the home side emerged victorious on a score line of fourteen points to eight.

Sligo LGFA hosted an U15 B Féile competition in Curry on Saturday evening.  Our St Farnans/St Patrick's team gave an excellent account of themselves winning their first two games against Owenmore Gaels and Geevagh respectively but lost out to St. Johns in the semi-final.

Unfortunately, our ladies team lost their Division 3 League Relegation Play-off against St Molaise Gaels on Sunday morning. After a bad start which resulted with us being down by 17 points at one stage the girls fought back to within 2 points before Molasie Gaels team rallied again and ran out 4 point winners. Final score - St Molaise Gaels - 5-10 - St Patrick's - 2-15. The ladies start their championship campaign next Sunday against Curry.

Our men's footballers had an encouraging start to the Junior A championship campaign with a 2-11 to 2-9 win over St Michael's on Sunday evening in Kent Park. We started the game well and lead 2-4 to 0-2 after the first water break, with goals from Jim Davis and James Clarke, at half time we went in leading 2-6 to 0-5. St Michael's rallied in the second half but points from Davis and Padraic Clarke settled the team and our lads put on a determined showing running out narrow winners by 2 points. Team: Tomas McMunn, Patrick Kevany, Joe McMunn, James Kearins, Dean Mahon, Conor Kevany, David Giblin(c), Cathal Finneran, Connell Kearins, Jim Davis (1-4), James Clarke (1-1), Pierce Kearins (0-1), Donal Brady, Oisin Kevany, Padraic Clarke (0-5) Subs used: Jonathon Higgins, Patrick Farrell, Jack Clarke, Paul Boland

Fixtures
Best of luck to our U13 & U15 boys who are both in semi-final action this week. On Monday evening August 23rd our U15s are in the Div B Shield Semi Final versus Calry/St Josephs at Seamie Donegan Park while on Thursday our U13s host Coolaney/Mullinabreena in the Div B Plate Semi Final.

Well done to Amy Boland who is a member of our U16 panel on being part of the Sligo ladies' team who won the national league title in Tullamore on Sunday. Amy was part of the team that won the 4 x 100m relay and the 4 x 400m relay. Local woman Lauren Cadden was also a member of both teams and team captain.

We hosted our second intermediate championship game at Seamie Donegan Park on Sunday, and we would like to thank our volunteers who got the pitch ready for the game. Special mention to Martin Haran and Stanley Clarke.

Sligo minors
Hard luck to the Sligo minors who lost out in the All-Ireland semi-final against Meath on Saturday. A very successful campaign that ended the 53 year wait for a Connacht title at this grade. Brighter days ahead for all players and management.
