Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 20th May
Big congrats to Jasmine Dunleavy, Gemma O'Callaghan and the Sligo LGFA minor footballers who retained the Connacht minor 'B' championship title last Saturday with a 2-11 to 0-10 win over Roscommon in Bekan.

There were three DRP hurlers on the Sligo U17 side who surprised Kildare on Saturday by 1-11 to 1-10 to reach the Corn Jerome O'Leary final for 2024. Take a bow Andoni Oskoz, Thomas O'Brien & Paddy Healy. Sligo's final against Tyrone will be played on June 2nd.

Well played Cian Lally, Eoghan Smith and the Sligo senior county footballers on another Tailteann Cup success last weekend in Thurles. Sligo are now assured of place in the knockout stages.

Our senior club men's footballers completed their spring league campaign on Sunday with a narrow 2-11 to 0-14 loss to league winners St Mary's at Kent Park. Fergal O'Flaherty's team now turn their attention to the start of the Furey's Coaches SFL Division 2 this weekend, when they travel to Corran Park to play Ballymote in their opening fixture on Saturday evening at 7pm.

Our junior men's footballers will be playing in Division 3 this season (having won the Division 4 league title in 2023). They start this Sunday afternoon with a home match against St Mary's at 2pm.

Our senior women's footballers lost out to Calry/St Joseph's on Sunday morning in their Spring League, on a final scoreline of 3-5 to 1-9.

Good luck to our boys U17 footballers who play Ballymote Bunninadden this week in the minor league shield final in Scarden.

Our girls U16 footballers dug deep last week to record a narrow win over Tourlestrane in the league. They return to south Sligo this Thursday evening to play Curry at 7pm.

DRP's boys under-15 footballers had a great run in the Sligo GAA county Feile last Sunday in Scarden, reaching the final, thanks to victories over Shamrock Gaels, St Molaise Gaels and St Mary's. They narrowly lost out to a fine St John's team in the decider on a final scoreline of 4-3 to 1-7. 

Well done also to a youthful DRP girls U15 side who played their hearts out in last Suinday's Sligo LGFA county Feile in warm conditions in Cloonacool.

Well played our girls U12 teams who both recorded wins last week against Eoghan Rua and Owenmore Gaels respectively. 

A big bualadh bos for the Drumcliffe/Rosses Point under-13 hurlers who beat Easkey in the league at Oxfield last Friday evening. This was a notable scalp for our young up-and-coming hurlers, who produced a superb hour of play.

Our boys U13 footballers host St John's in the league at Oxfield this Friday evening at 7pm.

Hard luck to the Drumcliffe girls community games football team, whose run in this year's competition came to an end in Curry on Sunday evening last.

St. Patricks Club notes Monday 20th May

Fixtures and Results 

Our U14 girls played at home to CT Gaels this week. Unfortunately the visitors left with the win. The girls take on Geevagh/St. Michaels this week away to Geevagh, Monday at 7pm.


U18 boys took on Tourlestrane at home on Tuesday evening. After a hard fought game it finished up with a draw, St. Pats 3-11 to Tourlestrane 2-14.


U16 girls took on a very strong Owenmore Gaels side last Thursday and despite keeping their heads up until the end, Owenmore Gaels proved the deserved winners on the night.


Our ladies team had their last league game Friday night v St.Michaels. This game was a relegation play off so it was a must win for the ladies to stay in Division 3. Up until half time it had been a very evenly matched game with our ladies playing into the sun. In the second half they pulled away with a very strong finish at. 5-15 to 0-7. 


The Senior men will be starting their League Campaign this week with Round 1 v Easkey, away at 7pm.


Congratulations 

Well done to Danny Woodrow and his county minor teammates who won the Connacht Shield Final against Leitrim this week. 


Well done and best of luck to Skreen/Dromards U10, U12 and U14 draughts teams that won Gold at Sligo and Connaught and are headed to the All Ireland's next Sunday.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 13th May
Well done to Cian Lally, Eoghan Smith and the Sligo senior footballers on winning their opening Tailteann Cup match against Wexford at Markievicz Park last Saturday. Next up is a trip to Tipp this Saturday afternoon.

Our senior men's footballers lost out narrowly to county champions Coolera/Strandhill at Oxfield in last Sunday's senior spring league game, on a final scoreline of 2-11 to 1-12. They play St Mary's this Sunday afternoon in Kent Park at 2pm.

Our senior women's footballers were unlucky to lose out to Eoghan Rua in Saturday evening's Connacht Gold Division 1 game, on a final scoreline of 3-10 to 2-12. Our junior women's team were beaten by St Nathy's in their Division 4 match.

The DRP minor girls footballers lost our narrowly to St Mary's last week in their Shield game, on a final scoreline of 1-14 to 1-12

Commiserations to Daniel Oates and the Sligo minor footballers on their Connacht championship loss to Mayo at Markievicz Park last Friday. Sligo minors will now the contest the Connacht shield final with Leitrim.

Hard luck to Donnchadh O'Brien and the Sligo senior hurlers on their Christy Ring Cup loss to Wicklow at the weekend.

Best wishes to the DRP boys U15 football team who play in the county Division 1 Feile competition this weekend. Our U15 C team play Coolera/Strandhill in the league in Ransboro on Thursday evening.

Congrats to the Rathcormac NS girls and boys Cumann na mBunscol football teams who both recorded good wins last week. The schools camogie/hurling teams also performed well with a win for the girls, and a draw for the boys.

Our girls U12 footballers have a go games match this Friday evening with St John's at Oxfield (7:15pm).

The same evening - our U13 hurlers play Easkey in a league gaem.

Our Saturday morning U7 All-Stars footballers have their first blitz of season in Cliffoney last Saturday morning. In perfect conditions, our young footballers played a series of fun matches with Calry/St Joseph's and our welcoming hosts St Molaise Gaels.

Big congratulations to Neil & Siobhán Ewing, Tullyhill, on the recent birth of their baby boy - Oisín. We gather he's already itching to start nursery training in Rathcormac this weekend!

St. Patricks Club notes Monday 13th May

Results and Fixtures


U18 boys took on Shamrock Gaels last Tuesday, unfortunately it wasn't their day as Shamrock Gaels proved the deserved winners on the night. They will take on Tourlestrane at home at 7pm this Tuesday.


U13 boys had a great win against Coolera/Strandhill on Wednesday. The boys led from the start and despite a few scares they came out convincing winners 2-17 - 2-4.


U9 and U11 mixed teams had a great evening out in St. Michaels last Wednesday. Well done to all involved.


U15 boys were out against Eastern Harps Thursday last and came away with a great win 4-12 - 1 -15.


Our Ladies team played away to St. Molaise Gaels last Saturday night and unfortunately their best efforts just weren't a match for the strong North Sligo side. The Ladies are due to play their last league game this Friday at 7pm away to St. Michaels.


The Senior men played away to Easkey on Sunday afternoon and proved to be the stronger side coming away with the win 1-15 - 1-11.

Congratulations to club man Canice Mulligan and his county teammates on their 6 point win over Wexford on Saturday.

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 13th May
The G4M&O returns this Monday evening at 8.00PM in Riverstown Park, all new members welcome for a fun way to get some exercise and meet new people.

The winner of last weekend's special Bank Holiday draw was Eamon Jinks who won €1,000.

The Senior ladies had a good win over Owenmore Gaels in the final group game of the league. After a tight first half, the Gaels took control in the second half and ran out winners on a 2-18 to 2-19 scoreline. The team was: Mairead Tuohy, Ava Lyons, Amy Healy, Katie Gilligan, Jade Lyons, Aoife Morrisroe, Leanne Galvin, Ciara Gilligan, Isobel Clark, Roisin Kearns, Naomh Quinn, Erin Mullaney, Aaleasha Sweeney, Hannah Willis, Penny Barlow. Subs: Louise Robertson, Chloe McTiernan, Amy Brehony, Kate Brehony, Leah Mullaney. 

The U18 boys had a good win over St Pats on a scoreline of 6-17 to 1-13 last Tuesday. They now play Coolaney/Mullinabreena on Tuesday away at 6.30PM.

The U16 girls play St Nathys away on Thursday at 7.00PM.
The U15 boys had a good 2-11 to 2-9 win over St Mary's last Thursday. They will participate in the Division 1 of Féile on Saturday in Scarden.
The U13 A boys lost 5-12 to 2-15 to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point while the U13 C team drew 5-10 to 3-16 to Owenmore Gaels last week.

The two U12 girls teams enjoyed two great games against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point this week. They will now play St Nathys away on Friday at 6.15PM and 7.15PM.

Congratulations to the children from Sooey who had their communion on Saturday last and best wishes to the children from Riverstown and Cloghogue who will make their Communion next Saturday. 

Well done to Aughanagh Celtic on their 2-1 win over Ballisodare in the Cup final on Sunday, their first Cup Final win in over 30 years. 

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Liz Scanlon, Ross Road who died at the weekend.

St. Patricks Club notes Monday 6th May

Fixtures and Results 

U13 boys played Shamrock Gaels at home last Monday evening. Shamrock Gaels proved to be strong contenders who were the deserved winners on the night despite a spirited effort from our boys. The boys are out again this week at home on Wednesday evening @7pm against Coolera/Strandhill.


The U16 girls played away in Calry last Wednesday evening and unfortunately it was not their day coming up against a strong effort from Calry.


Our senior men were out against St. Farnan's on Friday evening in a tight even contest that ended in a draw, 1-09 to 1-09. The men take on Easkey this Sunday away @2pm.


The ladies team met Eoghan Rua at home on Monday morning. Despite a tremendous effort from the ladies particularly in the second half Eoghan Rua were the deserved winners on the day. The ladies are back in action away to St. Molaise Gaels, Saturday evening 7pm.

Well done to Diarmuid Clarke who made his first appearance for Sligo this week at an U14 Blitz on Saturday.


The club would like to congratulate Lauren Cadden on her fantastic achievement of running for Ireland in the World Athletic Relay 4 x400m Finals this weekend. Lauren put in a great shift with a time of 53.09 for her split. The team have also qualified to head to the Olympics in Paris this Summer.
