Our U14 Boys have completed a brilliant A League and Championship double following a 3-12 to 2-06 win against a gallant Ballymote/Bunninadden squad at Markievicz Park on Friday night last. A tense first half saw Gaels lead by 1-07 to 1-02 at the interval but the winners produced a superb second half display of teamwork and scoretaking  to run out winners on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-06. Congratulations to the whole squad and management team of Brian McGowan, Daragh Fallon and Eugene Gillen on a fantastic year which began last October with an U13 Feile title, a League title secured in May and then some fine performances in the national Feile competition in Cork before this latest success on Friday night.

On Saturday evening we secured a spot in the semi finals of the intermediate championship after a hard earned  0-13 to 0-06 win over Shamrock Gaels also at Markievicz Park. St Molaise Gaels led by 0-07 to 0-05 at the interval but the sending off of forward Cathal Herron just before the interval and two late unanswered points in that period for the Riverstown side suggested that the momentum of the game might have changed. However Jimmy Langan's side produced an outstanding second half display with the tone set by brilliant points from Alan McLoughlin and man of the match Mark Quinn in the first two minutes. Holding their opponents scoreless in that second half until the 59th minute Molaise Gaels secured a well deserved victory. Mark Quinn was the games outstanding performer pulling the strings for the winners and providing a great link between defence and attack. Jamie McLoughlin on his return from injury also impressed as did Cathal Burns at centrefield and the hardworking Daragh Elliott in attack.

Our U9 and U10 Boys travelled to Castlebar last Saturday to take on the home club, Claregalway and Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon in a tournament. After 3 rounds  of action both our squads  qualified for their respective semi finals but both were defeated by their Claregalway opposition. Thanks to the parents who travelled to support the teams and well done to the 30 lads who represented St Molaise Gaels superbly on and off the pitch.
