Senior Men’s Football; On Sat last our senior team suffered a heavy defeat in Templeboy at the hands of St Farnans by 1 – 13 to 0 – 3. Missing the leadership and drive of county duo Paul Mc Namara, Brian Mc Gowan and the unavailable Charlie Harrison St Johns did not perform on the day and had no answer for the hardworking home team. Their next game is against Drumcliffe-Rosses Point on the weekend of May 25/26th, after Sligo play Galway and hopefully an improvement will happen by then. St Johns; J Mc Donagh; A Clerkin, E Roche, C Sweeney; N Walsh, M O’Hehir, F Murphy; D Burke, J Murphy; J Sayers, R Mc Manus(0-3), C Greene; S Regan, S Stenson, J Grehan; Subs D Smith for Grehan; N Hynes for Mc Donagh, T Kelly for Sayers, A Grace for Walsh, A Kerr

Under 12 Boys Our two Under 12 teams travelled to Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry to take on Tubbercurry/Cloonacool  on Tues last and they had mixed fortunes with the Div 1 team winning by 0 – 18 to 0 – 11 while the Div 3 side were defeated by 0 -21 to 0 – 10. Their next fixtures are on Tues May 14th when they welcome Drumcliffe-Rosses Point to Stenson Park.

GIRLS FOOTBALL – Under 14 Well done to our Under 14 girls on their great win against St Molaise Gaels on Sunday evening in Monsignor Hynes Park, Grange. Our girls came out victorious by 5 – 10 to 3 – 7. All 21 girls in the panel played a big part in this great win. Some new girls made their debuts, others scored their first points, some more scored with their left foot for the first time, while some played in new positions. It was a great experience for all of them in what was an exciting team performance against stiff opposition. Once again the support of the parents on the sideline was of great encouragement to the girls. So onwards and upwards for the St Johns girls
