Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club Notes 22nd May 2023

Team News:

Our Intermediate team start the Fureys Coaches Senior Football League Division 3 with a first round game away to Shamrock Gaels on Friday evening next, 26th May, with a 7.45pm throw-in. 

The following evening, Saturday 27th May, the Junior team play their first round of the league at home to Shamrock Gaels.  Throw-in at 7.00pm. 

Our U18 team play Eastern Harps in the Shield Final of the Expert Electrical Sligo U18A Foolball League on Sunday  28th May.  Throw-in at Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry is at 7.30pm.

Our U15 Team play in the U15B Football League Shield semi final on Monday evening away to Curry with a 7.15pm throw-in.

We wish all our teams much success this coming week and would encourage as many as possible to come along to support them

Our U11’s were away to Tubbercurry/Cloonacool on Tuesday evening last.  They have no fixture this coming week.

On Friday last,  May 19th, the club held the inaugural John Reilly Memorial tournament in memory of the late John Reilly, a club stalwart for many years. This was a blitz between Kilglass NS and Enniscrone NS.  Our thanks to all the teachers from both school who helped to make this happen.  A special word of thanks to the Reilly family who attended the blitz and for sponsoring all the medals. 

County Scene:

Congrats to the Sligo Minor Team and management on winning the Connacht Minor Shield Final on Friday evening in Markievicz Park in a thrilling game against Leitrim.  Full time score 3-14 to 0-12. Congrats in particular to Eoin Tuffy, Shane Murphy and Niall Duffy.

Condolences:

Our Club offers it’s condolences to all the Kavanagh family on the death of Joe Kavanagh who passed away at the weekend.  Joe along with his brothers was part of the senior team in the past. Ar dheis dé go raibh aanam dílis.

Golf Classic:

Our Club are holding a Golf Classic on Friday 28th July, the weekend of the Black Pig Festival. First prize will be four All Ireland Football tickets plus four Titleist Golf Bags along with many other prizes.  Cost is €200 per team of four.  To enter a team contact Enniscrone Golf Club on 096 36297 or Tom McManus on 087 260 9124

No winner. Numbers drawn; 1, 31, 38. €25 winners were Marie Farrell, Dara rouse, Ben & rian Byron, Aoife Gibbons.  Next week’s jackpot is €4700.  Draw takes place in Hopkin’s Bar, on Sunday 28th May.
