The Senior Ladies lost to CT Gaels in the Division 2 league final at the weekend. The Gaels went in two points up at half time with the aid of a strong breeze and were one point up with ten minutes remaining, however a late surge by CT Gaels saw them take the lead through two late goals and ran out winners on a scoreline of 5-7 to 1-12. The team was: Mairead Tuohy, Amy Healy, Leanne Galvin, Ava Lyons, Jade Lyons, Aoife Morrisroe, Penny Barlow, Isobel Clarke, Ruby Clarke, Orlaith Scanlon, Naomh Quinn, Lara Swann, Ceili Faughan, Ellie McDermott and Erin Mullaney subs used: Eilis O Connor, Leah Mullaney and Aaleasha Sweeney. They now await the start of the championship on Sunday 25th August.
The Senior men go into championship action next weekend with the Senior team taking on Tubbercurry in Bunninadden at 7.00PM on Saturday while the Junior team take on St Michaels in Ballymote on Sunday at 4.00PM.
The U18 girls play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point on Tuesday at 730PM in Riverstown Community Park.
The U17 boys play Castleconnor away on Thursday at 7.00PM.
The U15 boys play St Molaise Gaels at home on Tuesday at 7.00PM.
The U14 Girls notched up another win away to Geevagh/St Michaels in what was our last away game of the Championship. We had a nervy start but once the score board started to tick over the girls settled and pushed on taking some fine team scores to win by seven points on a scoreline of 3-10 to 3-3. The team was: Ciara Scanlon, Lauren Orr, Abbie McTiernan, Sinéad Gilligan, Meabh Tonry, Michaela Brehony, Katelyn Henry, Siofra Duignan, Clodagh Galvin, Sophie Edwards, Rebecca Garry, Sara Willis, Kayla Clancy, Abigail Conlon, Rachel Mullaney, Eva Usher, Eva Callaghan, Alice Foley, Nicole Parke, Ciara Byrne and Nevaeh Cassidy. We look forward to welcoming Calry/St. Joseph's for our final group game at home on Monday at 6.30PM.
The U13 A boys lost to Eastern Harps last Friday on a scoreline of 5-13 to 3-10. They now play Drumcliffe/Rosses Point away on Friday at 7.00PM.
The U13 C boys play Coolera/Strandhill on Monday at 6.30PM in Riverstown Community Park.
The U12 girls have a busy week with two games. Their postponed game from last week against St Patrick's/St Farnans will now take place on Tuesday at 6.30PM in Riverstown Community Park. They then play Owenmore Gaels on Friday at home at 7.00PM.
The U11 girls played very well against Drumcliffe/Rosses Point last Friday. The team was Clodagh Galvin, Aoife Garry, Siofra Gildea, Lexi Mullaney, Shauna MC Tiernan, Shannon Cassidy, Sophie Potter, Victoria Barlow, Alanna Mc Hugh, Jenna Kelly, Lucy Barkey, Millie Wilkinson, Kayla Barrett and Jade Davey. They now play Eoghan Rua away on Friday at 7.00PM.
The winner of last weeks special bank holiday weekend draw for a jackpot of €1,000 was Ava Galvin.
