Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 20th January
Congrats to Sligo women's footballers on their winning start to the National League last Sunday in Cloonacool. It was a proud day for DRP to see Sinead Regan captain the county team. There were also fine playing performances from Rianne Smith and Izzy Henry in the victory over Wicklow. Sligo have another home game this Sunday - against Antrim.

Best wishes to Cian Lally, Eoghan Smith and the Sligo men's senior footballers who begin their National League Division 3 campaign this Sunday against Offaly in Tullamore (2pm).

Well played James Donlon and the ATU Sligo Sigerson Cup team who reached the third round of the competition thanks to last week's one-point win over ATU Galway. James will now go head-to-head with Eoghan Smith and DCU in round 3, which will be played in Dublin on Wednesday night.

There are some price changes to membership fees this year. A reminder that membership for a non-playing adult is just €35 for the year.

The Club's Juvenile Celebration night - to salute the efforts in 2024 of all our hurling and football teams from U12 through to minor, will take place at the end of this month (January) in Rathcormac Hall. Full details are being finalised and will be communicated to teams - and on our social media channels in the coming days.

A date for your phone: Saturday morning All-Stars coaching for girls and boys aged 5-11 years will return to Rathcormac NS on Saturday, March 1st this year. More details soon.

Our All-Ireland winning minor footballers Jasmine Dunleavy and Gemma O'Callaghan and their Sligo teammates will be honoured at a Sligo LGFA Gala Dinner Dance in the Clayton Hotel on Friday, February 7th. Tickets for the night cost €50. The night will also see the presentation of Club All-Star Awards to four members of our intermediate championship-winning team last year: Sinead Regan, Michelle McNamara, Izzy Henry and Katie McDonagh.

A reminder that the DRP Club Lotto Jackpot still stands at a whopping €7000. The draw takes place every Thursday. To enter, visit drp.gaa.ie/clublottol

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 20th January
We held our annual underage Merit Awards last weekend and also presented medals to the U13 Girls Autumn league runners up, U16 Girls Div 1 league shield winners, U15 Boys Div 1 shield winners, U17 Boys Championship shield winners and the U18 Boys league shield winners. The winners of the merit awards were, U10; Rachel Gillogley and Conan Sweeney, U11; Kyron Cox and Lexi Mullaney. U12: Cillian Conboy and Elyse Medas, U13; Karl Barlow and Lauren Orr, U14; Clodagh Galvin, U15; Fionnan Duffy, U16; Sophia Rose Henry, U17; Jack Brehony, U18; Joris Rooney and Ciara Gilligan. The overall winner was Sean Kelly.  We also made a special presentation to Leanne Galvin in recognition of winning the Minor B All Ireland and Connacht titles last year. Thanks to Storylab for creating the presentation and thanks to the Kearns' family for their continued sponsorship of these awards.

The club will be participating in the Frank Henry memorial 7-a-side Tournament being run by Leixlip GAA next Saturday. Anyone interested in travelling on the bus, please contact Mary Quinn.

The club wish to express sympathy with the family and relatives of Peter Joe Henry, Oughterard and formerly of Whitehill, Riverstown. Peter Joe was a great GAA supporter and the Henry family have a long history with not only Shamrock Gaels but also Sooey and Knockalassa. Peter Joe played for both teams and won Foley Cups with both clubs in the late 1960's. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 6th January
It was a busy festive period to the club with our end-of-year Social taking place in Davis's Restaurant in Drumcliffe on Dec 21st. We presented our women's intermediate footballers with their county championship winners medals - and our senior men's footballers with the Division 2 winners medals. Big congrats to the DRP husband-and-wife team, Phil & Christine Gallagher where were named Clubpersons of the Year for 2024.
We were delighted to have the Haran and Devaney families with us to present the John Haran Perpetual Trophy to them.
The Clubperson of the Year trophy is named after one of the founding members of the club, John Haran.

Thanks to everybody who attended the inaugural Sean Flanagan Memorial Cup day at Oxfield on St Stephen's Day. T/here was a huge turnout of of players and supporters, which the Flanagan family were very appreciative of.

The  DRP club meeting for January takes place this Wednesday night (Jan 8th) in Oxfield at  8;30pm sharp.

Last week’s DRP Club Lotto numbers were: 9,10,13 & 30. There was no Jackpot or Match 3 winner.

Shamrock Gaels Club notes Monday 6th January
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our members, players, coaches and supporters a Happy New Year and the best of luck for the year ahead. We would also like to thank all who continue to support our 50/50 draw. We have given out just under €44,000 in prize money in 2024 and your support is greatly appreciated in providing vital funds for the running of our club.

Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Club notes Monday 16th December
The club's End-of-Year Social takes place this Saturday night (Dec 21st) in Davis's Restaurant, Drumcliffe, from 9pm. The night will also include our Senior Award presentations for 2024 - and the Christmas Draw.

Tickets for our bumper Christmas Draw are still available this week from club officers and senior players. There are 10 great prizes to be won on Saturay night, including the top prize of two All-Ireland football final tickets for 2025 along with hotel accommodation in Dublin's Skylon Hotel.

Congrats to our under-13/14 club footballer Noah Zakaria, who has recently signed for the Sligo Rovers U14 squad - an exciting next step in his young sporting career.
